Change That Lasts

The risk of injury from equipment in the U.S. workplace is astonishing. Between 1992 and 2000, there was an average of 148 fatalities per year as a result of being caught in running machinery. For the same period there was an average of 133,500 cases per year in non-fatal machine related injuries, which resulted in lost work days.

Every business has legal requirements to safeguard its employees. RWD's Maintenance and Safety training and Maintenance Process Improvement programs and services provide you the systems you need to be in compliance with both federal and local regulations and make sure your employees understand the contribution they make to achieving safe, efficient operations.

General Industry OSHA Standards Training

RWD's training program is based on standards for general industry. Our OSHA-authorized instructors provide either 10- or 30-hour training sessions to your employees, each of whom receives a course completion card to prove they have been educated in OSHA safety standards.

General Safety Training

RWD provides Safety Specialists to develop and deliver your General Safety Program, with train-the-trainer options available.

Training for NFPA 70E ARC Flash, the US regulation for safe maintenance of high voltage equipment.

RWD provides ARC Flash awareness training for your team. Using an ARC Flash study, we will help you implement an ARC flash hazard program to supplement your existing electrical safety program, promote additional safety measures for your employees, and provide compliance with OSHA mandates. RWD will conduct or assist you with the following to complete an ARC Flash study:

  • Short circuit study
  • Coordination study
  • Gap analysis to review your current program
  • Electrical ARC flash hazard analysis
  • Support services for implementation

Risk Assessment

RWD offers original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and equipment owners risk assessment analyses of current production equipment, modification to current equipment, new designs or processes, or equipment that is complete prior to shipping.

RWD also provides training in NEC (National Electrical Code) updates and changes, and in high voltage equipment maintenance practices.

Equipment Safety Support

Energy Source Safety Placards

RWD will assist you in developing, designing and displaying placards on your manufacturing cells or equipment to identify your energy sources, allowing for quick identification of the source and location for lockout.

Plant- or Equipment-Specific Safety Training

RWD develops and delivers plant- or equipment-specific safety training to ensure that your maintenance team understands exactly how and what to lockout on your equipment. We also work with your team to develop "task-based" lockout/tagout programs.

  • What can be easily learned?
  • What can be easily stored in the users memory?
  • Which information is more complex and requires performance-support tools?

Based on our findings we recommend and help develop the appropriate learning systems to provide your users with the knowledge and tools they need for success.
